Our Man in Europe, Dave Delacroix, a Sonnet: "...If I should forget."
...If I should forget in the forgetting of a conscious day, this ILLIAD of boo-ga-loo in which we dance & play or forgetful, remiss, anniversaries, a poignant date, Season, a tribute, a whoopsies-"Hey Lady!" -look into my eyes?
If I should forget in Life's forgetting all our yesterdays or scribe worthless rhymes that de-flower memory's sovereignty nor not lend dignity to Love's heritage, forgive too yet look into my eyes?
If I should forget our own God's-given dignity who's to say, a "concept" raging thru War & Peace, Politic-GREED at stake? These World Masters rotten with deceit cannot look into Love's eyes.
