Our Man in Europe/dave delacroix/ "Machaevelli."

Our Man in Europe/dave delacroix/ "Machiavelli."

...(Singing:) In the footsteps
of Machiavelli: "I KNEW a Prince,
I knew a KING,
I knew a Tyrant too?"
In the SHADOW
of a Politic,
the Chessboard, change,
the BLOOD or toil
and all was under-hand?

In the FOOTSTEPS
of a:
"CHEZ-ER-REE"
I conquered all I could;
and if I failed,
a soliloquy,
and damn U ALL,
for the man I am?

In the footsteps
of Cicero; ELOQUENCE
(WHA!?), prevailed, sailed?
And, sailing the Seven Seas?
Argument: Sustained.
Who hasn't love and lost?
Never mind the Wind?
How about the blood-sneeze!?

In the footsteps of
MACHIAVELLI
in the shadow of a Future-Past;
I remember, I remember
.....some Truth
for Me and You. But LATER
they would cut off my HANDS
and nail them (truth be told?)
to the CURIA door.
So where did Love go? And WHO can sing of my Passion?
