Our Man in Europe/dave delacroix/ "SWEET LOUISE!"

oUR mAN IN eUROPE/DAVE DELACROIX/ "sWEET Louise."

(An Irish - smoking permitted - Drinking Club -SONG; Accordion, tin whistle, fiddle!)

"Sweet Louise."

.....SOME die in the Gutter
some, die at Sea
and ALL of their Promise
for U and me?
Some, go to Hell!
Some die in bed;
and where will U die
my Sweet Louise?

Some choke on Heroine,
some: opulent fare?
Some, kiss their loved ones
before they expire?
Some, just fade away
yet, their Memory to stay
and just where I'll die?
U can leave that to me.

And AS for your Sins?
U can rot in Hell!
Your Virtues, those goodies,
the Angels will tell?
Did U die in the gutter
or upon the anvil of War,
and leaving a space
for evermore?

Oh Sweet Louise,
kiss me once more;
perhaps the last kiss
I'll know for sure?
Don't say that we "made it?"
Don't say that we "failed";
in an embrace that  lasts...
for Eternity.
