Close upon midnight, a lonesome, cobbled street
in DUBLIN town
and THERE is Reilly, Murphy, OH! -Sean Casey,
and Pete from Caven Town;
all lonesome in lost Love
...and dumb-founded.
At once their friends
are few, and far between,
yet whisper like ghosts in their dreams:

...Outside her window, a Gypsy tune,
