HAFIZ!!!!!
1) "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy!
I'm a Yankee doodle Dandee
in the ol' town of Shiraz
INA is my leetle Babee;
I'll take down shopping
to the Bazaar!...
2) Ol' Gal named Sal.
I gotta ol' gal
her name is SAL,
16 miles to Babylon;
the candle is low
but my feet with GO
to Sal, my Gal
in Babylon...
How long to Babylon?
Three candles,
no longer;
and WE
will be there
and back..again.
I gotta ol' Gal
her name is Sal;
16 miles to Babylon.
3) The Burning Bush
Oh blow da Man down
Brother, blow
da Man DOWN;
I've been to Damascus
Oh blow the Man down!
I wake up on Monday,
Friday, I go to sleep, on Saturday
I whisper your name
and on Sunday
in my dreams
I'll keep?
Oh blow da Man down,
Brother! Yo blow
da Man down;
I've been to Mecca!
Oh blow the man down.
4) Aleppo on a Sunday
Aleppo on a Sunday
what DO the wise men do?
Sit in conference
drinking coffee
like ALL the World is done?
Old Men? Young Men?
GREY Men?
What DO U think U do?
Aleppo on a Sunday
and where do WE kids play?
Amongst the bombs, the SHRAPNEL
that U call words?
5)Festa! Festa! Festa!
fESTA! fESTA! Festa!
Mamma wears her BANGLES!
Pappa looks so cool!
I get to see my Uncles
my Aunts and cousins too?
We get to eat
all those precious treats
that involve our sacred twine
and everything
and everyone, sings;
HAFIZ
we struggle, we fight...for love:
your rhymes!....:)
