Me & my Spittoon, lonesome Bar, USA "football/Forty-Nine=ers versus the Lads outta BOSTON,(BULLS!?)  rigging a gig/score/predictable & as TUTU Bellas flirting the Saloon Bar, hunting for a security blanket, keyhole Kids, out in the alley awaiting supper?

Me & mah spittoon, chain smoking, wondring how low, how long my money will last, maybe I can run a TAB on this life? Maybe Budweiser, Scotch Whisky will run out? Maybe that girl, I always think about, one day will not forget me?

A little OFFSIDE me-thinks like giving the team an extra line of Coke? But then in life all bets R off. What's fair is foul, no fear nor favor...words U hear that hang around?

Good old MOON, a ROCK in inter-stellar space, yup, it's cold out there, yet U circle, a universal stare. And if we ignore U, we rabid offence? We FOOLS hope U don't leave Us to our own devisers?

...I walked into the Sun, a Panama hat, feet thru my sandals: HOT COALS! A delirium, maybe it was the Whisky-my dehydrated Soul? Maybe many things, past bruises & stings? Where did I GO so long ago before I walked into the Sun?

I walked into the Sun. Nobody held my hand, no Fear nor Favor, no clutch to restrain/to wring my Heart? Just basic despair, "economy-brand" that tattoos a gangster of Love, left with the tide, beached, and no place to hide?

I walk into the Sun, a twilight fright....to shrivel...in eternities night! Poets & Songsters will sing my glory, glory-fleeting in the memory of none. A silence-ROARS!!!

I walked into the Sun. Like any fool? A Panama hat. Sandals or Italian hand-made shoes? ICARUS with wings made of wax, before he flew. A kiss to a girl, a fond-rendezvous, I took my arrogance, my wit & flippancy into GOD'S chamber. I walked INTO the Sun. Yet lonely glow.

Lotta TUNES stick in your mind, Beethoven's Ode ta Joy, Sinatra's Strangers in the Night, and maybe JACKIE BLUE, song by the OZARK MOUNTAIN DAREDEVILS, a band outta Missouri? Their best rendition, incidentally, showcased on the BBC TV, Old Grey Whistle Test/U can google? JACKIE BLUE, original concept, some Drug Dealer in some Kansas Music Roadhouse, composed, the boys turned it (the song/concept) quite perfectly and put it in a Pop Song jar!

THESE LADS like Steeleye Dan, CSN&Y, America or the EAGLES would-a made it BIG TIME but HOLLYWOOD & MISSOURI don't mix, the BOYS pretty much in their "cups" when Hollywood "Bigshots" came to vivisect their potential? JACKIE BLUE. OK with Me & U. Hollywood, as usual, missed the BEAT!
