Our Man in Europe/dav delacroix/the NAKED planet, No. 19: "Heart on a Wire."
"...I left my DICK...in SAN-FRANCISCO; I left my LIVER in Brooklyn. I left my SPLEEN, in Nashville; the locals are still kicking it around? I left my ONE good eye with BLIND BILL (go figure?) in Austin, Texas. That old Airport-"wheelie"-bag, crammed full of WEED?
-I left it in Little Rock, Arkansas, which accounts for the recent "Hillbilly" tranquility?... Where, as YOU: who left me in Witchata-Kansas, LOST-DEAD-NO-GOOD!!! - -I'm still...on the line? Babee: I'm sttill on the wire.
I left (or forgot?) my Tuxedo in CHICAGO. It's a big town. There are lots of places to lose things; ask any Blues-men, better still? -A Harmonica player! -In New Orleans I lost my shoes, which - considering everything? - no-one loves you when you got NONE? And the GATORS ate my Classic Guitar in F.L.A. along with my hitch-hiking Pal "HOLLY"... Tricky situ - Gators were hungry? - da guitar, Holly, or Me?
...I'm still on the line?
I left MY DICK...in San Francisco, I left my Liver: in Brooklyn. As for my SOUL?
I can still hear it?
It PUMPS like a heart...on the wire.
